#Bluetooth Settings (Device Pairing)

The Bluetooth Settings page helps you scan for and pair with MaintenanceFreak hardware (for example, an MF‑OBD2 device). Pairing creates a secure session so the app can communicate with the device.

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Bluetooth Settings

#What you see on this page

#Target device + connection status

At the top you’ll see:

• Target device name (the expected device name)
• Connected status (shows the connected device name or “None”)

#Start Scan

Tap Start Scan to search for nearby Bluetooth devices.

• If the app asks for Bluetooth permissions, grant them to continue.
• While scanning, you’ll see a scanning status message.

#Device list

When devices are found, they appear as cards with:

• Device name
• Signal strength (RSSI)
• A “Likely match” indicator when a device closely matches the target name

Each device has an action:

• Connect to pair
• Disconnect if already connected

#Stop Scan

If scanning is active, you may see a Stop action in the top-right of the page.

#Pairing workflow (recommended)

1. Tap Start Scan
2. Find the device marked Likely match (or choose the device you expect)
3. Tap Connect
4. Wait for pairing to finish

If pairing succeeds, you’ll see:

• “Connected: ”
• A secure session status message (when available)

#Troubleshooting

• No devices found
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the device is powered on.
  • Move closer to the device and scan again.
• Permissions blocked
  • Enable Bluetooth permissions in system settings and retry.
• Pairing failed
  • Retry scan → connect. If it continues, contact support with what you see on the screen.
