#Garage Details

The Garage Details page is the control center for one garage. It shows what’s assigned to the garage (vehicles + gear), what needs attention (tasks, transfers, expiring documents), and who has access.

#How to get here

  1. Open Garages
  2. Tap a garage card to open it.

Tip (gesture): On some devices, you can go back by swiping in from the right edge of the screen.

#What you see on this page

#1) Garage card (name + address)

At the top you’ll see the garage name and (if set) the address.

  • If you are the Owner/Captain, you can tap Edit to update:
    • Garage name
    • Address (optional)

#Pull to refresh

Pull down to refresh garage data (members, assignments, counts).

#2) Attention section

The Attention section summarizes what needs eyes first, like:

  • Overdue / open tasks
  • Expiring / expired document counts
  • Pending transfers

Use this section as a “what should I do next?” dashboard.

#3) Transfers section (only when needed)

If this garage has pending transfers, you’ll see a Transfers card with a button to Review transfers.

Transfers are used when someone shares an asset with you (for example, transferring ownership).

#4) Assets section (Vehicles + Gear)

This is the main inventory area for the garage. It’s typically split into:

  • Vehicles (cars, aircraft, watercraft)
  • Gear / Standard assets (appliances, equipment, and other non-vehicle items)

You can expand/collapse subsections to focus on what you need.

#Open an item

  • Tap an item to open its details.

See: Asset Details

#Item actions (⋮ / “more”)

If you have edit permission (typically Owner/Captain or Member), many item rows include an actions menu that can include:

  • Log service / expense
  • Log readings (odometer, fluids, tire pressures)
  • Add task
  • Manage assignments (move/link gear and vehicles to this garage)

See:

#Remove/unassign (when available)

In some lists, you may see a “remove from garage” link icon. This unassigns the item from this garage.

If you’re moving an item to a different garage, you can:

  1. Unassign it here (if available), then
  2. Reassign it from Asset Details → Garage assignment

#5) Documents health section

This section summarizes document compliance for the garage (for example, expiring or expired items).

  • Use it to quickly spot what needs renewal.
  • Use the action buttons to jump into Documents.

See: Documents

#6) Members section

Shows who has access to the garage and what their role is.

Roles are usually:

  • Owner/Captain: Full control + can manage membership.
  • Member: Can make changes, depending on the feature.
  • Viewer: Read-only.

#Invite a member (captain-only, plan dependent)

If you’re the captain and your plan supports collaboration, you’ll see Invite.

Typical flow:

  1. Tap Invite
  2. Enter the person’s email
  3. Send the invite

You may also see tools to:

  • Resend an invite
  • Refresh invite status
  • Cancel an invite

#Change roles or remove members (captain-only)

If enabled for your plan and you’re the captain, you can use the member actions menu to:

  • Promote a viewer to member (when allowed)
  • Downgrade a member to viewer
  • Remove a member

#7) Leave garage (members/viewers)

If you’re not the captain, you’ll usually see a Leave option to remove yourself from the garage.

#8) Danger zone (captain-only)

Captains may see destructive actions like:

  • Retire the garage (soft-deactivate / archive-like)
  • Delete the garage (permanent)

The app will ask for confirmation before finalizing these actions.

#Primary interactive features (how to use this page)

If you have edit rights (captain/member), you’ll see a manage/assignment action in the top bar (link icon).

From there you can:

  • Assign existing vehicles to this garage
  • Assign existing gear/assets to this garage
  • (In some contexts) create a new vehicle/gear item and assign it immediately

This uses a picker where you can:

  • Search items
  • Filter (vehicles vs gear)
  • Toggle “show available only”
  • Select multiple items and assign them in one step

See: Assigning items with the picker

#Accept a transfer (import an item someone sent you)

  1. Open the manage/assignment menu
  2. Choose Accept Transfer
  3. Scan the sender’s QR code

See: Accept Transfer

#Add a vehicle or gear item to this garage

If you have permission:

  1. Open the manage/assignment menu
  2. Choose Add Vehicle or Add Gear / Add Asset
  3. Fill out the form

See: Add Asset
